SOUTH AFRICA

My husband, Piet, and I celebrated our third (!) wedding anniversary in South Africa. Well, really is was just before our anniversary but who is counting . . . We began our journey in Cape Town, rented a car and drove out to the wine lands, we stayed in Franschoek for four days then headed East. We crossed into the Eastern Cape, and stay for another few days in the lovely Plettenberg Bay area, and then things got really interesting. We traded in our tiny rental for one with a but more ooompah and drove into the South African Bush. Down a few questionable “roads” later we found ourselves completely secluded and at the gates of our safari adventure. . . Africa is truly amazing, and I see it as one of those places that you just know in your soul that you are meant to return to in the future. There is a wildness about it that cannot be found elsewhere. . .see below for snaps from our trip. . .

I shot with both digital and film, although the below images are digital. . .

I recently returned from a long weekend in the St. Tropez / Ramatuelle region of the South of France.  Truly magical, and now I am searching endlessly for a house to retire early too...in my dreams.

I shot the whole weekend with my mom’s old Nikon FM2 — My go to travel camera. What I love is that the camera is lightweight, and goes unnoticed.
